We are in the sad and difficult position of having to cancel Todmorden Folk Festival 2020. This is an unprecedented time and we are in some shock at having to go through this process.
We will of course refund any tickets bought for 2020’s festival in full and if you have bought a ticket you will receive an email regarding this in the coming days. We fully understand the need to claim a refund and will do this as efficiently as possible.
If you are in a position to consider other options though we would ask you to do one of the following.
1. To donate the money you have spent on tickets to the festival so that we can pay artists a cancellation fee. We guarantee that any income we can gather this way will go directly to artists and we will take no management fee or booking costs from this.
2. From any refund you receive you consider purchasing music from those artists who were booked at the festival, particularly those who make a living from live gigs.
3. To transfer your booking to our festival in 2021. We will keep your ticket at the same price.
Our festival is run on a voluntary basis, the payment for which is a wonderful festival shared with wonderful people. Our sadness is palpable and shared across our already vulnerable industry.
As is the mark of our beautiful town we ask for kindness in this awful time. So many of our partners, supporters and friends are facing the prospect of lost income through small businesses losing trade, artists losing bookings and the challenges for everyone else in the supply chain of an event like this are unprecedented.
We will see you in 2021.
