A Bird in the Hand is a brand new puppet and mask theatre company. Currently touring Special Delivery, which incorporates the talents of artist Alison Duddle and puppeteer extraordinaire Mark Whitaker.
SPECIAL DELIVERY is a delightful piece about the delights of trying something unexpected. When a heavily laden postman is suddenly surprised by a rain shower he discovers that all his packages have lost their labels. in the process of trying to work out the intended recipients, he discovers a bit more about the people on his rounds – and decides to bring a little sunshine into all of their lives.

Thingumajig Theatre – Kit and Caboodle

With miniature puppet shows inside a big, rolling mule puppet, the timeless theme of migration is packaged up in Kit and Caboodle, the newest street act by Todmorden’s own puppet company, Thingumajig Theatre.

A pack mule with its beautiful burden of tales is joined by two well-travelled companions. Bags and cases open to reveal stories and songs of remarkable journeys from the staggering sojourn of a butterfly to people past and present who set out in search of a better life.

Join Hadrian Clog for a chance to learn one of those fancy pants clog dances! They look pretty hard (and some of them are) but Hadrian Clog promises to teach a dance that everyone can join in with. Here’s a chance to learn something new and achieve something great in just one hour!

Singing Workshop


Ruthie Boycott-Garnett will be leading everyone who fancies a sing in some rousing shanties, simple harmonies and tongue twistering delights. All children and adults welcome to come along and make a bit of noise.
